Kenia Gude Perez Pastor Omar Gude Perez, a prominent Cuban church leader, was imprisoned on trumped-up charges and had his appeal denied. On 16 July it’s the anniversary of his trial. However, we’re delighted to report that the government has decided not to evict his family from their home. Dr Oscar Biscet Dr Oscar Elias Biscet is a devout Christian human rights defender, sentenced in 2003 to 25 years in prison. As a long-term prisoner, he needs our continuing prayer and encouragement: He still has seventeen years of his sentence to serve – by sending him cards you can let him know he’s not forgotten, especially on 17 July ,which is his birthday. |
Waji-ul-Hassan Waji Ul-Hassan was handed a death sentence, amongst other penalties, under Pakistan’s blasphemy laws in July 2002. Waji remains on death row pending an appeal decision. Christian lawyers’ group (LADS), filed the appeal in the same year and their Chairman, Parvez Choudhry, who has personally presented Waji’s appeal case several times, has received death threats because of this. |
